HMS Warrior

'A black viscious ugly customer as ever I saw, whale-like in size,
and with as terrible a row of incisor teeth as ever closed on a French frigate'

Charles Dickens

The worlds first purpose built ironclad vessel, HMS Warrior was the most powerful vessel of her time. Built to counter the French Gloire class, she easily outclassed them and was probably instrumental in preventing war with France. She is also one of the very few vewssels of her era still afloat.
